Accessibility Commissioner

SOGS Accessibility Commissioner, Martin Ross (accessibility@sogs.ca)

Current project:
Working with the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Wendy Dickinson (Services for Students with Disabilities), Lesley Oliver (Equity and Human Rights), and the SOGS Executive to develop language for graduate course syllabi (incorporating Section 14 of the Graduate Student Regulations found on the SGPS website) on graduate students’ use of Services for Students with Disabilities. Adding a section on accommodations will:

a) remind instructors to be aware and amenable to any graduate student in need of accommodations at the outset of their course; and
b) ensure graduate students that there is a service to utilize.

The current guidelines for course outlines can be found here. The next policy meeting that a potential drafted paragraph can be presented is in September.
