The Society of Graduate Students (SOGS) together with Western Solidarity Network (WSN) and the Teaching Assistance and Post-Doctoral Student's Union (PSAC 610) are organizing an activist assembly at Western. The assembly will be held from 12-5pm in UCC 315 on Tuesday September 23rd, followed by an activist mixer that evening at the Wave from 6:30-9pm.

The intent of the assembly and mixer is to introduce new and old Western graduate and undergraduate students to activism, activists, social justice groups and the various issues facing the student body on campus. The day will consist of a series of workshops and an informal, catered, all-vegan mixer in the evening/afternoon.

As part of the Assembly, the following workshops will be held:

  • Upsetting the Culture of Rape: On Rape Myths, Consent and Feminist Solidarity
  • Student Organizing at Western
  • The Corporate U and You
  • Introduction to Campus Activist/Social Justice Groups.

The assembly and mixer are free to attend for all current students, faculty, and staff. Alumni are free to attend the assembly.
