Knowledge Translation Coordinator

The Ontario Ginseng Innovation & Research Consortium (OGIRC), a grant funded research project in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, is seeking a part-time Knowledge Translation Coordinator for a short term contract.

T he ideal candidate will be self motivated, dependable and comfortable working independently. They will have a creative flair, excellent writing and communication skills, a scientific/research background with an interest in natural health products and bioactives. Ability to synthesise information is a priority for the purpose of creating posters, report writing and assisting in manuscript preparation. Proficiency in MS Office suite including PowerPoint presentations and Access is expected.

Duties

Assist Scientific Director to organize a book publication based on work conducted by OGIRC scientists including instructions to authors, collection and review of submissions, organize review process

Assist in preparation of the OGIRC final progress report to the funding agency and OGIRC annual, quarterly newsletters, updates to website and other social media

Assist in preparation of grant funding submissions

Assist in writing for scientific publications based on research results and details provided by senior consortium investigators

Prepare outreach material /posters for public events and conferences

Act as OGIRC representative at local and regional events

Term

Grant funded position August 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014. Possible 3 month extension

Approximately 21 hours per week
