The Society of Graduate Students is proud to present its Fall 2024 Term Graduate Student Orientation Week schedule of events! These events run Monday, September 23rd to Sunday, September 29th.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23
NACHOS & BOARD GAMES
5-7 PM | Grad Club
Love playing board games? We’ve got you covered. The Grad Club has 60+ board games in its collection!
Join the SOGS Executive for a super fun night of complimentary nachos and board games! Meet your student leaders and let them know how they can make #GradLifeWesternU the best it can be.
Did you know that SOGS student leaders are elected by the membership or its elected representatives? Who your student leaders are is important — you pay mandatory student membership dues to SOGS and our executive team represents your interests to the university admin, stakeholders, and broader community.

Join our Orientation and Social Committee for a chill afternoon eating burgers and ice cream on the Grad Club patio! Get to know the grad students and committee who plan most of our social events, learn more about how to get involved at SOGS and win swag and prizes!

RETRO ROLLER SKATING NIGHT
8 – 9:30 PM | North London Optimist Community Centre | $8
Join our President and Vice-President Student Services for a super fun night of indoor retro roller skating fun!
TICKETS ARE LIMITED! SOGS is subsidizing the cost of the entrance and skate rental to make this event accessible. Adults only (18+). Partners and spouses are welcome; 2 tickets maximum per SOGS member.

SUSTAINABILITY GOALS IN OUR COMMUNITY

Interested in local sustainability initiative on campus and in London? Join the Sustainability Commissioner and Committee for an informative gathering to discuss U.N. Sustainability Goals!
Refreshments will be provided. Grab a snack and learn more about SOGS’ sustainability advocacy and how you can get involved.
GRADLIFE TRIVIA
7 PM – 10 PM | Grad Club
Join our Committee Chairs for a fun night of trivia related to all things SOGS, #gradlife, and academia!
Attend the event and learn more about our 16 committees/commissions and how you can get involved! Did you know committee members receive a $5 Grad Club gift certificate for every meeting they attend?

BON FIRE NIGHT

Love s’mores, live music, and meeting new people? Join the SOGS Advocacy Team (Accessibility, Gender Equity, International, Pride, and Racial Equity and Inclusivity Commissioners and Commissions) for our annual BON FIRE NIGHT on the Grad Club patio! A tradition of #GradLifeWesternU, the annual SOGS fall bon fire is an event you don’t want to miss!
$5 ticket includes:

HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME & PUB GRUB

Show your school spirit and join us at the Grad Club for Homecoming 2024! Watch the Mustangs Homecoming Game live on the big screen and eat yummy Grad Club pub grub. Complimentary food is limited in quantity. WesternU swag prizes available for attendees.

APPLE PICKING TRIP
11 AM – 3 PM | APPLE LAND STATION | $15
Enjoy one of our local orchards — Apple Land Station — and pick apples with us! Hosted by the Orientation and Social Committee, this event is a wellness-oriented outdoor event where members can explore the farm’s amenities and pick-your-own apples!

🚌 Return bus from Middlesex College front doors to Apple Land Station
