WINTER 2026 ORIENTATION WEEK

The Society of Graduate Students is proud to present its Winter 2026 Term Graduate Student Orientation Week schedule of events! These events run Monday, January 26th to Sunday, February 1st.

⚠️ ALL SOGS MEMBERS ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE!

💰All ticketed events have been subsidized by SOGS to make them more affordable and accessible to grad students.

‼️ Tickets are all FINAL SALE! If you cannot make it to our trip, kindly reach out to sogs.communications@uwo.ca. Give your ticket(s) away or sell it to a peer/colleague.

MONDAY, JANUARY 26

SIP AND PAINT

6-8 PM | Grad Club (Middlesex College, Room 19) | 🎟️ $20

Want to get creative outside of grad school? Want to try your hand a painting? 

 
Join the Orientation & Social Committee for a special event at the Grad Club: Sip and Paint with PaintNite.com!  
 
Attendees will receive a paint box that includes 4 acrylic paints (for mixing), a palette, a stretched canvas, brushes and an easel (built into the box).  🖼️ Check out the image we’re painting HERE!
 

TUESDAY, JANUARY 27

TRIVIA NIGHT

7-10PM | The Grad Club (Middlesex College, Room 19)

Love trivia? Want to test your brain and brawn at our iconic general trivia?

Play 3 rounds of trivia (20 questions per round). Winning teams earn $20 Grad Club gift certificates.
 
 
 
 

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28

2026 GOALS VISION BOARD MAKING

5-7PM | (TBA) | 🎟️ $5

Join the SOGS Health Plan Committee for a new wellness event where grads get crafty and create annual vision board. Let’s make our 2026 goals and plans a reality!

Come prepared with your goals and creativity, we’ll supply the rest–craft materials, vision boards, snacks, and a sensory-sensitive environment.
 
🎨 We will supply: boards, magazines, craft supplies, art supplies, food and drinks
⚠️ Sensory-sensitive event
🎁 Attendees will receive a $5 Grad Club gift card to make the event FREE!
 

THURSDAY, JANUARY 29

WINTER GRAD LIFE PARTY

7:30-10PM | Grad Club (Middlesex College, Room 19)

🎟️ Attendees will be entered into a door raffle to win 1 of 2 SOGS/Grad Club prize packs (SOGS/GC hoodies + Grad Club mug + $10 Grad Club gift certificate – $80 value!)
🎶 Music provided by SOGS member DJ Mazzali!
🍟 French fry bar (regular, criss-cross, and sweet potato fries with all the dips and gravy) – limited quantities
 

FRIDAY, JANUARY 30

GLOW BOWLING

8-10PM | Fleetway Bowling | 🎟️ $12

Love to bowl? Never bowled before but want to try a classic Canadian indoor sport?

 
Join the SOGS Orientation & Social Committee for an evening of glow bowling at one of London’s premiere bowling and billiards venues!
 

SATURDAY, JANUARY 31

SNOW TUBING

1-5 PM | Boler Mountain | 🎟️ $25 (or $36 for non-members)

Enjoy the sun, snow, and friends at our tubing with us at Boler Mountain! 

 
Never been winter tubing before? Check out this video online. 
 
⚠️ 🚨 2 tickets per SOGS member. If you find you cannot make the trip, kindly sell or give your ticket to a peer or colleague. 
 

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1

OUTDOOR SKATING at STORYBOOK GARDENS

1-4 PM | Middlesex College front doors | 🎟️ $12 (or $18 for non-members)

⛸️ Love to skate? Never skated but want to try a well-loved Canadian winter sport?

Join the SOGS Orientation & Social Committee for an afternoon of outdoor skating at one of London’s best outdoor attractions! Storybook Gardens has a 250 metre ice trail.
 
🚌 We’re taking our group via school bus!
⛸️ Skate rental included!
🥶 Dress for the weather — you will be outside for the afternoon
👭 Bring a partner or a child
🎟️ $13 per member | $18 for partner/spouse/child
