International Pride Month may have been June, but we’re excited to extend the festivities into July!


OUT AT THE BEACH: WESTERN PRIDE CELEBRATION
Wednesday, July 8th | 12-2 p.m. | UCC Concrete Beach

Join us for a vibrant outdoor celebration of Western’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies – a party you won’t want to miss.

Hosted in collaboration with Radio Western, the University Students’ Council (USC), and the Society of Graduate Students (SOGS), this lively gathering features music by DJ Nic Nemesis and plenty of opportunities to connect. Come meet new people, explore community resources and celebrate the achievements and resilience of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities.

Whether you’re stopping by or staying to dance, this is a space for joy, belonging and community.

Anyone can come – it’s a party out at the beach! 🎉

 


RAINBOW COFFEE CLUB
Monday, July 13th | 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Beryl Ivey Garden
🌈 Join the SOGS Pride Commission for our reoccurring monthly social, this time in the Beryl Ivey Garden. 

Enjoy drinks, snacks, and good conversation in the fresh air surrounded by nature right in the heart of campus.

We’ll have cold brew, lemonade, sweet tea, and Timbits!

 


QUEER PATIO MIXER
Tuesday, July 14th | 4-6 p.m. | Grad Club Patio

Join the Pride Commission for a chill night of mixing and mingling on the Grad Club patio!

We’ll also have:
🎲 games like cornhole, giant Jenga, and card and board games
🍹 Pride-themed cocktails and mocktails
😋 and delicious snacks!


BEYOND NONBINARY PERSPECTIVES ON EXISTENCE AND EXPANSIVENESS
Wednesday, July 15th | 12-1 p.m. | D.B. Weldon Library Community Room 128

In this engaging session, Sydney Brouillard-Coyle will draw from nir lived experience as a non-binary person who uses neopronouns to examine life in a binary and cisnormative world. Sydney will reflect on what it means to challenge all forms of binaries and invite participants to consider how we can build spaces where people can live as their full, expansive selves.

This is an opportunity to listen, learn and engage in meaningful dialogue around identity, belonging and possibility. Everyone is welcome!


QUEERLY BELOVED CINEMA: PARIS IS BURNING (1990)

🎞️ Join the SOGS Pride Commission for its summer QUEER FILM SCREENING as we watch PARIS IS BURNING (1990)!

Jennie Livingston’s landmark documentary takes you inside New York’s ballroom scene of the late 1980s: the houses, the competition categories, and the artistry of voguing that shaped a generation of 2SLGBTQIA+ culture. More than three decades on, it remains a moving tribute to chosen family, self-expression, and the communities who built a world of their own.

Come for the film and popcorn; stay for the critical conversation and friendship!


QUEERVIA: A NIGHT OF QUEER TRIVIA
Thursday, July 16th | 5-7 p.m. | Grad Club

🏳️‍🌈 Join the Pride Commission for three rounds of trivia, 20 questions per round (60 total), and sex-positive prizes for the winning team each round!

Teams capped at 4 people!

SOLIDARITY MARCH FOR TRANS RIGHTS & LIBERATION
Friday, July 17th | 6-7 p.m. | Victoria Park

Sydney, our previous Pride Commissioner, is conducting a Trans Solidarity march looping around Victoria Park. Trans folks, queer folks, and allies are welcome!

🏳️‍⚧️ Bring your signs, protest chants, and Pride/trans colours.
